After studying photography in Sheffield I moved to London to find work assisting photographers. I loved being an assistant, the opportunity to learn on the job was invaluable but I was soon keen to take on my own work. A break came when a personal project, 'First Time Fathers' was published on the cover of the Guardian's Family section. My work is now mainly divided between commissions for magazines and charities. Working for the NT is never dull. This year I've photographed a period film set in the driving rain at Knole and been in amongst the highland cattle and pot-bellied pigs at Wimpole Estate in Cambridgeshire.
