My background is in broadcasting and journalism. After several years working in BBC newsgathering where I learned to self-shoot and edit fast-turnaround short-format video stories, I moved into channel branding, trailers and promotions, working on BBC flagship programmes from Panorama to Blue Peter to Doctor Who.

In 2011 I moved to the National Trust to set up the in-house video unit, allowing the charity to work more cost effectively in terms of video gathering and respond to the rapidly growing demand for online video content. From small beginnings we've gone a long way to expand the Trust's digital video archive - though there's still a lot to do before we equal the still images collection. We now have a searchable digital archive of versatile, high resolution imagery of our properties, including aerial footage, 360 degree video and 4K video. We can supply fully edited films or unedited rushes and the collection is growing all the time. If you're after a particular shot and can't find it on National Trust images please contact me as there's a chance we may have something in our offline archive still waiting to be uploaded.
