After studying photography in Sheffield I moved to London to find work assisting photographers. I loved being an assistant, the opportunity to learn on the job was invaluable but I was soon keen to take on my own work. A break came when a personal project, 'First Time Fathers' was published on the cover of the Guardian's Family section.

Since then I've divided my time between commissions for magazines and charities. Clients include The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Stylist, Good Housekeeping, Kew Gardens and Westminster Abbey. Memorable jobs have been photographing Mary Berry at home for The Telegraph magazine, David Cameron at Downing Street for the Stylist and recently Jennifer Saunders for Good Housekeeping.

I love working for the National Trust. The opportunity to visit incredible places and be paid to take photographs is not lost on me. It's also never dull! Over the years I've photographed a period film set in the driving rain at Knole, been in amongst the highland cattle and pot-bellied pigs at Wimpole Estate in Cambridgeshire and just recently photographed Antiques Roadshow at the beautiful Baddesley Clinton.
